Bean Chilli with Avocado Salsa

This is a delicious and warming bean chill recipe, packed with flavour and the GOODness of Good Hemp Oil. This is a great recipe for using up any leftover vegetables you might have. It is packed full of protein and fibre, making for a really filling meal!

What you’ll need:

For the Chilli:

  • 2 tbsp Good Hemp Oil
  • 2 tins chopped tomatoes
  • 3 tins of beans (such as haricot, kidney or butterbeans)
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 peppers, chopped
  • 200ml light lager
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • salt and pepper


For the Salsa:

  • 1 red onion
  • 1 avocado
  • 100g cherry tomatoes
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1 chilli


  1. In a large heavy based saucepan, gently fry the onion, peppers and garlic in the Good Hemp Oil until soft. About 5 minutes.
  2. Add the spices to the softened vegetables and cook for a further 2 minutes.
  3. Add the drained beans and the lager, lower the heat and allow for the liquid to reduce in volume by a third.
  4. Add the tomatoes, reduce to a low heat and allow to simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the salsa. Roughly chop the avocado, tomatoes, onion and chilli. Squeeze over the lime juice and stir.
  6. Serve the chilli over rice with salsa on the side.
