Hemp Oil - Healthy Oil Alternative
We produce hemp seed oil at our farm in Devon. It’s pure, 100% natural and made from cold pressed hemp seed. The Omega 3 in hemp oil is a more effective source than that provided by any other plant oil, one of the many benefits of hemp oil.

In fact hemp oil has 25 times more Omega 3 than Olive oil and 40% less saturated fat. It is also rich in GLA – 10ml provides the equivalent to 6 Evening Primrose Oil capsules, making this the perfect healthy oil alternative.
Hemp seed oil is versatile, tasty and supports a healthy and balanced diet. Simply stir fry, drizzle over soups and salads and use for everyday cooking. It is great in home-made salad dressings and works wonders on roast potatoes.
Nothing artificial is added… No bleaching, deodorizing, herbicides or pesticides. Just pure, natural, hemp oil.
Hemp oil has a Smoke Point of 165ºC – slightly higher than Virgin Olive Oil. It is suitable for all types of cooking, with the exception of deep frying, and is excellent for Roast Potatoes. Hemp seed oil is healthiest when used cold, for example in salad dressings or drizzling on toast. It does not contain trans fatty acids when heated.

Why is the Omega 3 in Hemp Oil so special?
Hemp oil contains high amounts of γ-linolenic acid and stearidonic acid, the biologic metabolites of linoleic and alfa-linoleic acid, respectively, which none of the other commonly utilised culinary oils contain. Due to metabolic competition between these two Essential Fatty Acids for access to the ∆-6 desaturase to convert LA and ALA to γ-linolenic acid (GLA) and stearidonic acid (SDA), respectively, the presence of both GLA and SDA in hemp seed oil allows this enzymatic step with ∆-6-desaturase to be efficiently by-passed. This is why Hemp is the most effective plant source of Omega 3 and GLA for human consumption.
